One of my absolute favorite faux finishes is Behr's Bellagio Faux. Most Home Depot's will carry the supplies needed for this cool technique.
after getting supplies and colours...
Step 1: prep walls. Base coat your wall with the flat base colour for your BELLAGIO FAUX™ choice.
remember: BELLAGIO FAUX™ must be done over a flat paint.
Step 2:
Generously load a BELLAGIO FAUX™ Brush or a nylon/polyester brush with tinted BELLAGIO FAUX™ product. Starting at a top corner of your project area, brush (cut in) a 3” section around the perimeter of the working surface. Continue along the ceiling and the corners of the wall.
Step 3:
Liberally reload your brush and use random "X" like strokes to cover a 3' x 3' section. Continue the process in 3’ x 3’ sections until the entire surface is covered.
TIP: It is not necessary to cover the base color completely
Step 4:
Allow the BELLAGIO FAUX™ to set until it begins to lose its wet look.
Step 5:
Return to the initial 3' x 3' section. Using a BELLAGIO FAUX™ Trowel, smooth down the product by applying soft pressure in "X" like strokes. Repeat this process by moving down and across the surface until the entire project is complete. Be sure to blend each completed section into the new section.
Step 6:
Allow 4 hours for the surface to dry before another tinted topcoat of BELLAGIO FAUX™ is applied. A longer drying time will be required in cooler temperatures and in higher humidity.
TIP: To increase the depth and dimension of your surface, apply a second topcoat of tinted BELLAGIO FAUX™ using the same process as the first.
Step 7: Enjoy your finnished wall!
